As a jazz musician composer-arranger, Dr. Strauman has had his
music performed or recorded by a number of distinguished musicians
and ensembles.
Hal Leonard, Willis Music Company and A Circle of Fifths Music have
published his music. He has recorded for Casablanca Records,
Concert Jazz Records, Marlin Records, MMC (Master Musicians Collective),
and Unidisc (an RCA subsidiary label). Additionally, he has published
articles on music and music education in the Piano Quarterly, the
School Musician and Pedalpoint.

As a piano accompanist, Dr. Strauman has
worked with celebrated dancers-choreographers
from the Alvin Aily American Dance Theater,
Martha Graham Company, Hubbard Street Ballet,
Milwaukee Ballet, New York City Ballet and
the Pennsylvania Ballet.
He has had jazz studies in New York City and
Philadelphia with remarkable teachers:
Manny Albam, David Berger, Jim McNeely
and Adolph Sandole.
Dr. Strauman has been the recipient of
awards from:
